EU reach over time

Read the EU reach of Meta ads shown in the EU, per country and over time, and use the growth between measurements as a performance signal.

Meta does not publish impressions or spend for commercial ads. For ads shown in the EU, it does publish how many accounts the ad reached, in total and per country, under the EU Digital Services Act. AdLib stores that number over time.

Where it is

  • On the ad (GET /v1/ads/{id}): eu_data with reach_total, reach_by_country, targeting, payer and beneficiary, as last measured.
  • In the history (GET /v1/ads/{id}/history): reach, one point per measurement day.

When we measure

For advertisers on a watchlist we look up each Meta ad once when we first see it, and again every few days while it runs and has EU reach. Every GET /v1/ads/{id} call also records a point for that day.

Reading it

Reach is cumulative: unique EU accounts since the ad started. The growth between two points is what the ad gained in that window. Reach that keeps climbing means the advertiser keeps funding the ad; reach that flattens while the ad is active means its budget moved elsewhere.

Limits

  • EU only, and only for ads that were shown in the EU.
  • Reach, not impressions: one person counts once.
  • Points fall on our measurement days.
